Symposium on Surge/Wave Loads on Buildings

On July 30, 2025, Professor Barbara Simpson presented “To what extent do waves interact with structures” at the Symposium on Surge/Wave Loads on Buildings at Oregon State University. The event brought together researchers to exchange knowledge on numerical and physical modeling of surge and wave impacts, with a focus on overland flow from hurricanes and its effects on the built environment.
